KANSAS CITY - Smith, Eugene L., 52, formerly of Wichita, died on Thursday March 23, 2006. He was born on January 21, 1954. Visitation and Memorial services will be held at the Blue River Church of Christ on Saturday March 25, 2006 at 1 and 2 p.m. Burial services will be held at Pond Creek Cemetery in Pond Creek, OK at a later date. Eugene loved his family and friends. He was a good Christian who always put others first. He always helped and encouraged those around him. His smile and laugh were contagious. The compassion in his eyes touched the deepest place in our hearts. He was one-of-a-kind and shall be sorely missed by all who knew him. He truly was a servant of God. His life is captured in II Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." He is survived by his wife Eva; 2 daughters, Cathleen Smith, Rebecca Ore (Lawrence); 2 grandchildren, Joseph and Maria Ore; Mother, Mary Coble (Ben); Father, Darrell Mason (Terri); 2 sisters, Debbie Anderson (Marty), Carolyn Andrla (Mitch); Brother, Don Mason (Debbie); Nephews, Chris, Grant, Cody and Logan.
