Barry Stanford Grenyo
18 Aug 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma - 28 Dec 2018 in Mission, Kansas
Barry S. Grenyo, age 65 of Mission, KS, died Friday December 28th, 2018, peacefully in his home from natural causes.
Barry was born on August 18th, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He grew up in Wichita where he graduated from Wichita West High School. After high school he started a 40+ year career in the grocery business. He loved working in the customer service business because it allowed him to interact with people on a daily business. The greatest pride Barry had in his work had been the last 10+ years he was at the Hy-Vee grocery store in Mission. His infectious personality was on display each time he was in the store. He so enjoyed his job with Hy-Vee and more importantly the people and customers he interacted with each day.
Barry was an avid sports fan, specifically the Chiefs, Royals and the University of Kansas basketball team. He would have many opportunities over the years to attend games to each of his favorite teams. He so enjoyed being able to spend the day at Truman Sports Complex whether it was watching the Chiefs or seeing the Royals play. The greatest enjoyment for Barry came each time he was able to watch his grandson or granddaughter play one of their baseball/softball games or soccer matches.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Adelda Grenyo.
Barry is survived by his daughter Jayne Grenyo (Jeremy) of Lee’s Summit, Father George of Wichita, brothers Ed of Lawrence and Patrick (Rhonda) of Fargo, ND; grandchildren Gavin, Zoey, Olivia and Benjamin all of Lee’s Summit, other family Jessica Moos (John) of Lee’s Summit and extended family.
