Gayle Ann Richards Hook

Gayle Ann Hook was born June 28th, 1954 in Wichita KS. She passed from this life June 18th, 2018 of Olathe, KS. She worked at YRC Wolrdwide as a senior systems analyst for the last 19 years. In previous years she worked for Koch Industries, for the Wichita school district and taught computer sciences classes at St Thomas Aquinas in Wichita, KS. When her girls were young she ran an in home daycare while completing her mathematics and computer sciences degree at Wichita State University. She worked incredibly hard and was very proud of her career. The thing that gave her the most joy in life was spending time with her granddaughters. She and her daughter Denna together spent most of her free time that she wasn't with them planning activities and experiments they would enjoy next time they could be together. She and her daughters spent their evenings watching their favorite LulaRoe retailers the DK Sisters live sales and buying beautiful clothes for each other. She was very gifted in fine arts and crafting. Including making Halloween costumes, hair bows and quilts also drawing and painting. She was a very supportive advocate along with her daughter Crystal for autism awareness, it was important to her to be a voice for her granddaughter with special needs. What her family is going to miss most about her is her kind spirit and lovely motherly wisdom. She was greatly loved by all that knew her.

She leaves behind the love of her life Billy Lemons of Olathe, KS; daughters, Crystal & Tyson Cogburn of Wichita, KS, and Denna Hook & Jason Lee of Olathe, KS; brothers, Rick &  Sheila Lyles of Progresso, Mexico, Frank and Suzanne Richards of Bella Vista AR, and Herb and Amber Callender of Valley Center, KS; sisters, Susan Lyles of Howard, KS, and  ReNee & Russell Scritchfield of Monett, MO; and granddaughters, Taygan & Tylee Cogburn of Wichita, KS. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emilee Jo "Emy Jo" & Raymond Denison "Denny" Callender, and Bobby Lee "Bob" Lyles; and granddaughter, Gracie Ann Cogburn

Visitation will be Monday June 25th 10am-8pm with family present from 5pm-7pm at Cochran Mortuary & Crematory, 1411 N. Broadway, Wichita KS. Funeral service will be Tuesday June 26th at 1pm at Gospel Assembly Church, 4230 N. Oliver, Bel Aire, KS.  Burial will follow in the Kechi Township Cemetery.
