Mr. Hurigh Tillman, Jr. received the gift of eternal life on Friday, January 18, 2013 from Wichita, KS. Hurigh Tillman Jr. was born to Hurigh Sr. and Luella Perry-Tillman in Boley, Oklahoma, April 14, 1954. "J.R.", as he was lovingly known, was the second of 4 children. J.R. was raised in Wichita, Kansas. He graduated from West High School in 1972. He was a private person, and a body builder. J.R. worked as a truck driver most of his adult life. He was a mechanic by trade. He worked part time in maintenance at his church, Grant Chapel A.M.E., until his health failed. J.R. accepted Christ at an early age. He loved fishing, and collecting and assembling model trucks as a hobby. On January 18, 2013 J.R. went from labor to reward. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother and father; Hurigh Sr. and Luella Tillman-Smith of Wichita, KS., Sisters: Shirley of Altadena, CA., Rose of Wichita, KS., Linda of Atlanta, GA., Shaun of Minneapolis, MN., nephew Eddie Flowers, Jr. of Kansas City, KS., special friend Pearl Moore of Wichita, KS., and a host of relatives and friends. A celebration of remembrance for Mr. Tillman will be Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in the sanctuary of Grant Chapel AME Church, 2750 North Hillside Street Wichita, KS. Friends and family may visit with Hurigh as slumbers in peace on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the Biglow-Bethea Funeral Home Chapel.
