Andrew “Andy” L. Ashbrook, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024, just shy of his 70th birthday, July 11, 1954, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his father, James Robert Ashbrook; grandparents Benjamin and Crystal Edwards and Annie Lee Ashbrook. Survived by daughters Amber (Matt) Lane and Heather Horn; grandchildren Grace Lane, Alvin Lane and Lily Lane; mother, Donita Ashbrook Davis, brother, Ed Ashbrook and sister, Lynette Ashbrook; nephew, great nieces and nephews, aunt, uncles, cousins and friends.

Andy graduated from West High School in 1972 and then completed courses at Kansas Technical Institute in Salina, Kansas. He worked for the State of Kansas as a surveyor for watersheds. He was an extraordinary jig builder for Wichita’s aerospace industries. He had a successful company with a crew as a finish carpenter. He was a great storyteller and loved the outdoors – hunting, fishing and exploring. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed drawing caricatures to entertain the family. He was an artist with skill in woodworking and drawing. He adored and treasured his two daughters and grandchildren.
